Dear Parishioners of St Joseph's & St Charles,

St Joseph's School 150th Anniversary This Monday, 3rd November at 2.00pm, you are warmly invited to join us in school as we step back in time and experience a little of what life was like all those years ago. We are delighted to be working in collaboration with the Sheffield Heritage Food Trust, who will be showcasing their brand new exhibition, showcasing the heritage behind some of the best known names from Sheffield. As part of this celebration, we'll be serving some good old fashioned food from Sheffield suppliers who have been established for over 100 years. You'll enjoy a traditional Meat and Potato Pie from the famous Bonds Bakery, along with Bachelor's Peas and a splash of Henderson's Relish - all true tastes of history! Our children will take you back in time with renditions of songs from the era, bringing history to life in true St Joseph's spirit. We do hope you can join us for this very special occasion. Pie and peas will be £3.50 per serving. Registration for the Sacrament of Confirmation 2026 Bishop Heskett will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at St Joseph's on the Feast of Pentecost, Saturday, 23 May, 2026, at the 5.00pm vigil Mass. If you are in Year 8 or above and you would like to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation then please e-mail Fr M at ssjosephandcharles@gmail.com for the registration form and the dates and times of preparation. If you are 18 years and above and, for whatever reason, have not been Confirmed then you are also welcome to receive the Sacrament. N.B. Any adult preparation will be separate from that of those still at school. All applications should be received and completed by Sunday, 9 November. Thank you. N.B. The weekend of 8 & 9 November, sees us celebrate the Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica and all the Masses will have the readings for the feast. However, as we will also observe Remembrance Sunday, the Proper of the Sunday, 10.00am Mass, will be that for a Requiem. A Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving for Volunteers You are invited to a Mass of Thanksgiving for all Volunteers on Saturday, 15 November, at 11am at Immaculate Conception Church, Rotherham.
